forget the great spring skiing on warm sunny April days. The high Spring
waters bring out the Kayakers and Canoers and "ice out" is a
special time for Anglers.
SUMMER: For many this is what Maine is all about. Refreshing Summer breezes
invite all types of outdoor fun. Swimming in a small pond, sliding down a
waterfall of a cascading mountain stream, fishing, canoeing the
Androscoggin, golf, antiquing, rock hounding, day hikes or expeditions
into the Mahoosucs or the nearby White Mountains or just relaxing with a
good book are just a few things that are here for all.
FALL: This special time of the year lets us shuffle through fallen leaves
and wonder at the color brought to life by Fall foliage. Autumn is a wonderful time
of year to walk down a wooded path or glide peacefully along the
Androscoggin in a canoe. Bird, deer, and moose hunters come from far away to
try their skills in this wilderness region well known for its game. If you're
not a hunter then bring your camera and take your own shots of nature in
its finest. Some great skiing can usually be found by Thanksgiving weekend
at nearby Sunday River.
